Rob Wright was appointed head coach of the Collingwood Magpies Netball program in 2019.
During his three years and 61 matches as head coach, Wright led the NSW Swifts to back-to-back grand final appearances in 2015 and 2016.
He then made the move to Melbourne, joining Collingwood as a specialist defensive coach in 2017. That same year, Wright also served as an assistant for the Australian Fast5 team in 2017.
Regarded as one of the game's most strategic mind, Wright led the Magpies to their second finals appearance in 2019 where the team finished the season in fourth position of the Super Netball ladder. He also led the team to their maiden New Zealand Super Club title in 2019.
