With the conclusion of the 2021 season, teams are now looking towards building for next year. Below are the all the key dates and details surrounding the upcoming signing period.
Off the back of the Suncorp Super Netball League’s landmark new pay deal, the eight clubs are finalising their lists for the 2022 season.
Here is all the information you need to know about the upcoming signing and free agency periods.
From Monday 6 September, clubs have the exclusive right to re-sign their existing 10 squad members.
Clubs also have the right to sign any of their existing permanent or temporary replacement players or training partners as one of their 10 contracted final squad players, on a one or two-year contract.
Clubs can sign any player who was not contracted to another team, either as a squad member, replacement player or a training partner in 2021.
Training partners cannot be signed during this time.
Clubs can have conversations with squad players, permanent or temporary replacement players or training partners from other teams, however no contracts can be signed with these players until Monday 13 September 2021.
FREE AGENCY PERIOD
The contract signing period for free agents will commence from 13 September 2021 until 8 October 2021.
On Friday 8 October 2021, clubs must have signed contracts for their 10 squad players for the 2022 season.
From 9 October 2021, clubs can commence signing training partners. Training partners can only be signed for the 2022 season.
Players can be signed on a one-year contract for the 2022 season or a two-year contract for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
