Take a look at what to expect from Collingwood's round nine clash against the Swifts on Tuesday night.
A spot of mid-week evening netball is on the cards as the Collingwood Magpies face the NSW Swifts once more on Tuesday night.
Coming off an exceptional performance against the Giants, Jodi-Ann Ward looks to continue and expand on her defensive form against a Swifts attacking group that loves to rotate and move out wide.
Defensively, it will be vital for Geva Mentor and Ward to gain control of the Swifts frontal attack space and force them to settle for riskier lob passes. Ward and Melissa Bragg’s physical efforts and size should prove an advantage against a wily but undersized Nat Haythornthwaite.
On the offensive end, having Molly Jovic back in the midcourt will be a truly welcome addition to the speed and drive of the Magpies attack. Jovic’s ability to drive into the pocket, drive and open up space for passing passages and force opposing defences to split around the goal circle is an incredible asset for Collingwood to have.
With Shimona Nelson holding strong and tall in the post and Gabby Sinclair still being white-hot from behind the arc, the Magpies are back on course to push NSW Swifts once more.
