Garbin gets stuck into pre-season at the Pies

Australian Diamonds shooter Sophie Garbin only arrived in Melbourne on Sunday, so it speaks volumes that she already feels there is something special building at the Magpies ahead of season 2022.

“Magpies fans would recognise me in the Swifts dress – I can’t wait to play in front of them wearing black and white,” Garbin said following day two of pre-season.

“We’re looking to play finals, that’s our big focus this year so hopefully we can do that for (the fans).”

After four seasons and two premierships with the Swifts, Garbin said she was thrilled to start a new chapter and hopes to replicate that success at Collingwood.

“This is still such a young club with a young group of girls and we have something really good building here,” she said.

“I’m so excited to be here and I’m hopeful we can win a few flags.

“I really want that premiership (in 2022) and I think belief is what’s most important.

“Having tasted the ultimate success twice with the Swifts I want to bring that feeling here.
