Collingwood will commence their 2021 Super Netball season on Saturday 1 May in front of Melbourne fans, following Netball Australia’s confirmation of a complete 14-round home and away fixture today.
It has been 21 months since Collingwood played a Super Netball match at a home venue in front of their Victorian supporters. Last year the COVID-19 pandemic forced teams across the country to relocate to hubs in Queensland for the season.
The last time Collingwood played in Melbourne was in the 2019 minor semi-final against the Melbourne Vixens at the State Netball and Hockey Centre on Sunday 1 September.
This year Collingwood play the Sunshine Coast Lightning in the opening round of Super Netball matches at John Cain Arena, following the Melbourne Vixens v West Coast Fever match.
Over the 14-round home and away season Collingwood will have eight opportunities to play in front of supporters at arenas across Melbourne and Tasmania. Netball will hit Tasmania in Collingwood’s Round 4 match against the Queensland Firebirds and again in Round 13 against the NSW Swifts, both to be played at the Silverdome in Launceston.

Collingwood will also travel to Traralgon and Bendigo with pre-season games scheduled for March 26 and April 16 respectively.
Collingwood’s GM of Women’s Sport, Jane Woodlands-Thompson, celebrated a return to netball in Collingwood’s home states.
“We are thrilled to see a return of Super Netball to Victoria and Tasmania this season,” Woodlands-Thompson said.
“With the whirlwind of a year that was 2020, we are very appreciative of the continuous support we received from our members and fans whilst we were away from home.
“With today’s announcement, we can’t wait to return netball to our supporters at home arenas in May and showcase our new, exciting brand of elite netball.”
