Collingwood Magpies’ emerging goal attack Gabrielle Sinclair has signed a new deal with the club for the 2020 season.
Sinclair joined the Magpies at the start of the season following a year as a training partner with the Tasmanian Magpies ANL team. Sinclair played seven games with the Tasmanian squad which won the 2018 ANL premiership.
Sinclair’s outstanding performances, particularly in the ANL grand final, were recognised with a promotion and a contract for the 2019 Suncorp Super Netball season.
The 26-year-old has acted as a third attacking option in the goal circle this year, developing and working in partnership with Nat Medhurst and Shimona Nelson.
Collingwood GM of Women’s Sport Jane Woodlands Thompson said Sinclair’s development and commitment to her craft has been impressive.
“Gabby has played a crucial role in our campaign this season and we are thrilled to have her see out another year at the Holden Centre,” Woodlands-Thompson said.
“Known as an up and coming attacker across the league, Gabby was sought after by a few clubs."
“We are beginning to build something special here at Collingwood and appreciate the loyalty and commitment Gabby has demonstrated."
“We look forward to what Gabby will bring in 2020.”
Sinclair has scored 34 goals with an average shooting accuracy of 74 per cent in her nine appearances to date.
