Netball New Zealand yesterday announced the return of their Super Club competition, to be held in Nelson from 8-13 December.

The competition includes all six teams from the ANZ Premiership, and two international club sides, including ourselves and Wasps Netball (England).

The competition will see 20 games played over six days at the Trafalgar Centre, culminating in the Grand Final on Friday 13 December.

This will be the first official time that the Collingwood Magpies squad for 2020 will get to play together before going away for the Christmas/New Year break.

Collingwood’s GM of Women’s Sport, Jane Woodlands-Thompson, sees the tournament as a squad development opportunity.

“Following a well-deserved break we look forward to having the group return in November,” Woodlands-Thompson said.

“Pre-season tournaments such as the Super Club are an excellent opportunity for the team to rekindle and experiment with new combinations ahead of the upcoming season.”

“It’s an exciting mix of competition and we look forward to seeing how our 2020 group matches up.”

All games will be broadcast live through Sky Sports in NZ and through their streaming service.
