Collingwood Magpies Netball's 2018 fixture has been confirmed.

As the Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) league heads into its second season, the Collingwood Magpies can prepare for the road ahead with the release of the 2018 fixture.

With the SSN 2018 season set to kick off on Saturday April 28, the season will see a delayed start from last year due to the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

The Magpies will host seven home matches, in a family friendly fixture that will delight the Collingwood faithful.

In another coup for the club, the Magpies will split its home games across Margaret Court and Hisense Arena, after playing the majority of their 2017 games at the latter.

Furthermore, netball fans will be able to watch the Magpies in action on a greater level than ever before, with 10 of the club’s 14 matches set to be broadcast on Channel Nine.

The Magpies’ season will begin in the highly anticipated Victorian derby against cross-town rivals, the Melbourne Vixens.

As was the case in 2017, the Vixens will field the home court advantage, but will be confronted by a passionate Magpie Army in the season opener.

Next up, the Magpies will venture to Perth to take on the West Coast Fever, before returning to Melbourne to play in the second fixture of a double-header.

Under the bright lights of Hisense Arena, Collingwood’s new recruit Erin Bell will be reunited with her former team, the Thunderbirds, when the Magpies meet the Adelaide franchise in round three.

In round four, the Magpies will call Margaret Court Arena home for the first time as they host reigning premiers, the Sunshine Coast Lightning in Melbourne.

After meeting the Swifts in Sydney, the Magpies will freshen up with the Queen’s Birthday bye week, before playing the Queensland Firebirds and Giants Netball in rounds six and seven.

In round eight, the Vixens and Magpies will come face to face once again, with Collingwood playing host at Margaret Court Arena.

In the second half of the season, the Pies will meet the Fever (H), Thunder (A), Lightning (A), Swifts (H) and the Giants (H), before closing out the regular season on the road against the Firebirds in Brisbane.

Magpies Netball is excited to bring an SSN game back to Tasmania in 2018. One of the Magpies’ home games will be moved to Launceston, with further details to be confirmed by the club at a later date.
