NWC: Stage one review

And just like that we’re through the first stage of the NWC and both the Diamonds and Roses are 3/3.

The Diamonds faced off against Northern Ireland, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka over the weekend and were dominant in all three games. Both Kelsey and April started in 2/3 of the games and were significant drivers of the wins that left the Diamonds top of their pool.

Kelsey was also awarded player of the match in games against Northern Ireland and Sri Lanka whilst April was commended for her “defensive domination” against Sri Lanka on Sunday.

On the other side of this, we have Geva playing for the Roses and finishing the weekend with four rebounds, five intercepts and 14 deflections. Geva’s showing no sign of slowing down anytime soon and we can’t wait to see her dominate over the next week!

The action doesn’t stop though. Australia are set to take on Barbados at 7.40pm AEST on Monday 15 July, and England are taking to court later in the evening against Jamaica.

Australia then take on Malawi on Tuesday 16 July before qualifying for play-offs.

England will play Trinidad & Tobago to secure their play-offs spot.
